Il Monte Kongō (Kongōsan, 金剛山, 1.125 m) si trova al confine tra le prefetture di Osaka e Nara. Comprende il punto più alto della prefettura di Osaka ed è venerato come montagna sacra fin dall’antichità. La tradizione della «salita quotidiana» è molto radicata e molti escursionisti tengono un conteggio delle visite — è uno dei vertici più frequentati del Kansai durante tutto l’anno.
Dalla stazione Kawachi-Nagano, il bus Nankai serve direttamente il trailhead Kongō. Dalla stazione Tondabayashi si combinano bus Nankai e bus comunitario di Chihaya-Akasaka per raggiungere il trailhead Kongō.
